Entering the Country

A valid passport is required, with or without the corresponding visa as applicable. CELAC and UNASUR country nationals (all countries in America) DO NOT REQUIRE A VISA to enter Argentina, only their ID card. Visitors from non-neighboring countries are exempted from all duties on personal effects and new items for a value not exceeding USD 300 plus an additional USD 300 if purchased at duty free shops within our national territory.

No certificates of vaccination are required to enter the country.

Customs

Personal effects such as the following are not subject to customs duties: toiletries, electrical devices, clothing, portable cameras, typewriters, calculators and objects specific to visitors' professional practices.

When in used condition, items such as video and/or photographic cameras, recorded DVDs and cassettes for family use, portable CD, MP3 and DVD players, laptop computers, and portable PCs, among others, are covered by the definition of luggage. Over-the-counter medications and prescription drugs accompanied by a valid prescription are also included, in amounts appropriate to visitors' needs and their length of stay in the country.

In order to obtain service with an Argentine company, mobile telephones must be declared to Customs. In addition to the items detailed above, Customs may inspect and retain any other goods and impose fines or penalties, including custodial penalties.

Public Health

The Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries controls the entry of pets into the country.

Vaccination

No certificates of vaccination are required to enter the country.
